Helping Kids with Cancer to Get Moving

When Cindy Bakos and Cass Howcroft met in a parents’ kitchen in the oncology ward of the Royal Children’s Hospital, neither expected it would be the beginning of a friendship. Nor that it would create an organisation focused on getting sick children with cancer physically active.

Realising the positive impact physical activity had on Cass’s ill son Lochlan’s health and mindset after receiving a simple gift of a fitness watch, the pair began their mission to improve the outcomes of children living with cancer by launching the Little Big Steps organisation in 2018.

Today, they continue to deliver on their mission of providing interactive technology, activity tracking devices, support for research, and partnering with highly skilled practitioners to ensure each child has someone to look out for their ‘exercise medicine’.

Harvey Norman Commercial Victoria is proud to support Little Big Steps, we hope our fundraising efforts this year will help to ensure the continued success of this valuable organisation.
